A Report on Jonah's first 100 days

On the occassion of my first 100 days "on the outside", my gracious sister Bethany has turned over control of the keyboard to me for a few moments, so that I may, as is customary, give a synopsis of what I have accomplished during this time. Most of these will be stated below in the form of policy revisions I have made, or strictly reinforced.

1. When hungry, eat.

2. When happy, smile.

3. Make direct eye contact with people.
4. For gosh sakes, snap onesies on the inside of pants.
5. Real is always better than fake.
6. Big sisters are great, but you can only say "my sister gives great kisses" for a limited portion of your life, and even then only in select company.
7. When REALLY Happy, smile A LOT!
8. Engage in deep, meaningful conversations.

9. Get some kind of exercise daily.
10. Enjoy every minute, or at least every day!

The Pittmans go to the zoo (it's about time!)

We went to the Indianapolis Zoo with Grandpa Joe, Grandma Bobbie, Auntie Jen, Auntie Liz, Mommy, Daddy, Bethany and Jonah--quite the parade!
Me in a "bear look-alike" contest.

Daddy and Jonah in a "baboon and baby look-alike contest".
Mommy and me in the "native grasses look-alike contest". OK, not really.
We saw a rhino. It looked like he had a heart-shaped tattoo.
The giraffe did not appear to have any visible body art.
Cool snake!
Meerkat, minding his manners.
A lizard looking at "the pretty lizard in the mirror".
"I love the zoo!"
"Whoa."
Penguins are fun!
Seals are speedy!
Sharks are slippery and rough!
I kept good tabs on the Pittman men.

I decided to be nice and ordered dinner for everyone to round out the day. (I let Grandma and Grandpa pay though:)

Christmas 2008 part 1

We went to Indiana for Christmas, to Grandma Bobbie and Grandpa Joe's. We got to play with a lot of people, including each other.
Jonah got to swing a lot...

...Under Budd's watchful eye.

I told Budd how to take care of Jonah, and he openly accepted all feedback.

Meanwhile, it appeared that Daddy had pretty much checked out.
That was OK because Grandpa Joe kept good track of me.
Aunties Jen and Liz also helped keep me out of trouble, again under Budd's supervision.
We had a nice visit with those Indiana folks. We even got to meet Liz's YGF, Jeff, who apparently didn't move from that chair the whole time.
Jonah took it all in... ...Daddy did not.
Mommy made her first Mrs. Johnson's Pumpkin Tea Cake.
And I read about Clifford, while dressed a little bit like him.

In Indiana, I encountered her first big set of stairs, and quickly became a StairMaster.

And Jonah did his thing as usual.

Christmas 2008 part 2

Jonah and Budd being snuggly.

Me and Auntie Jen reading books to Budd.

Jonah calls this look "Blue Steel", or is that "La Tigre"? Hmmm

I tried my hand at opening presents, but this was confusing because Mommy usually says "Don't rip that!" (usually this means "out of books").

Jonah looked spiffy in his Christmas clothes.

I was ever the lady.
This is a rare "all family shot".
This is why "all family shots" are so rare.
Pretty Christmas dress!
Pretty Christmas smile.
More paper-tearing (sort of).

Christmas 2008 part 3

It was nice for me to spend time with Grandpa Joe. Of the 10 days we were visiting, he only had to work one day!

Budd did not have to work at all, so we got quite close.

I worked on the farm...

...Jonah hard at work.

I found the CDs and the recycling to be of particular interest.

Jonah likes to smile (smiling's his favorite!).

I got into Daddy's wallet during a nap and gave it a thorough once-over.

Jonah got to meet a nice older girl. OK, she's four days older and lives in Indiana. This is Jonah and Elizabeth with Allen and Chrissy (Elizabeth's Mommy and Daddy).
Jonah and Allen got along nicely (notice that Jonah is sound asleep).
Mommy and Jonah sharing some tent time.
Budd receiving further instructions from me.

Here's some action footage of Jonah in a special chair.
