Me gusta Pedro

Grandparents that are great

This is me and my Great Grandpa and Great Grandma. They really are great! Mommy and Daddy have one of me, Great Grandpa and Great Grandma had 16 little me's! Maybe that's what made them so great. I pretty sure it has something to do with it, anyway.

The many faces of Bethany - Part II

This one is me looking sweet with my bear friend, Pedro.
Here's me, passed out on Daddy.
This is just me being me. Here is a shot of me and Mommy. Obviously, I'm deep in thought. The shame of it all is that I just don't have that good of a memory yet (that's why peek-a-boo is so much fun), so I just forget all that which I ponder. Oh well, I can't unlock all the mysteries of the universe for you--it'd spoil your fun!
This one...I just don't know what's going on here.

The many faces of Bethany

These are some pictures my paparazzi took of me not looking my best. I trust you with them, but please--I don't want to see any of these in the checkout line at the grocery store!

My Mommy

My Mommy is pretty. People say I look like Daddy, but I hope I look like Mommy when I get bigger.

I get neat things from her knitting buddies.

We spend a lot of time smiling (Mommy smiles a lot around me).
Most of the time, I smile back. I like to play with Mommy. We snuggle up on the couch and just enjoy each others' company.

I like her company so much that I typically won't go to sleep in my own bed when I wake up at night.

That's OK, though, Mommy takes it all in stride. I think this lady is the best!

Bye-Bye Month Number 4

Today, at 4:43PM, I turned the calendar page on my fourth month. A little person picks up a lot of new info in that amount of time.

Here's some of what I learned:

1. Don't scratch your face too hard. Note the ouchie under my left eye.

2. Read the shirt I have on. That sums it up.

3. Shots are not fun. If anyone ever wants to give me a shot again, I'll run in the other direction. You do get cool band-aids, but trust me--it's not worth the headache.

The college kids Daddy and Mommy work with apparently love the things, but I honestly can't for the life of me figure out why. They must get them in their legs, too, 'cuz after they get their shots they can't really walk too well.

4. One's fist does not fit up one's nose.

5. The first day of daycare is tough. Mommy and Daddy dropped me off on the 31st of July. Here's a picture of me before I left the house. I'm practicing counting (I still have to use my fingers), but luckily there wasn't a test.

6. Naked time is the best. Here you can see my hard-earned chub rolls. Keep in mind, though, what they say: the camera adds ten pounds, you know.

Grandpa Joe and the Big Bathtub

We must have been feeling particularly saucy this day. We went to the biggest bathtub I have ever seen and took baths--get this--with our clothes ON! What a riot, huh?

So, it didn't smell as nice as my normal bath, was a lot colder, and it made my diaper soggy as all get out, but I did like dipping my little tootsies in!

Daddy and I played in the water.

Then I got sleepy.

All of this was in honor of Granpa Joe when he came to visit. He loves the Big Bathtub!

Here's another picture of Mommy and me!

Fabulous Accessories!

Someone made this sweater for me. Don't worry, my head isn't really shaped like that!

I've been on a bit of a slipper kick lately. You've seen the bunnies, now here is a glimpse of my bears.

This is Daddy wear my Boppy pillow on his head. I can't WAIT until I'm a teenager and I get to introduce my friends to this guy!

This is my own version of a fabulous hat. I'm not quite sure how I feel about hats just yet, especially in the summer. It's a shame to hide my beautiful hair, but sometimes (as you've seen) I just have bad hair days.

Vote for Pedro!

This is my friend Pedro. Daddy introduced me to him, and we've played a few times recently. He mostly just sits there while I climb on him, suck on his snout, and run my fingers and toes through his black fur.

However, playing with a bear does have its hazards. A word to the wise, don't grab too hard with your toes when trying to climb a bear friend!

Fun with Mom and Dad

This is a picture of Daddy and me picking stawberries. I supervised, and he did the work. It probably worked out for the best that way. There were other kids and mommies or daddies around that were trying it the other way around, and it looked like that just made a great, big, pink and sticky mess.

I celebrated the Fourth of July with a bath. It was raining outside, so I did not get to experience these "fireworks" I heard about. Maybe next time!

My friend Tessa

I got to meet my first my-age friend. Her name is Tessa and she lives in Fort Collins, Colorado. She brought her mommy down to visit with my mommy when we were in Denver. She's three weeks or so older than me, so she was able to give me the gift of the wisdom she has accumulated during that time, and I used my youth to freshen her perspective and remind her of her own younger days when life was so much simpler.

We got along swimmingly, and I hope we get to visit more often!

100 Days old!

Today I turned 100 days old!

It's hard to believe I've already had 100 days in office here at the Pittman House.
To recap, the following are the changes I have made so far:
1. Approved budgetary spending for diapers and diaper-related expenditures.
2. Mandated "Wally Time" for at least 30 minutes per day, and have made a significant ongoing push for "Naked Wally Time", which has been increasing gradually as of late.
3. Increased meal times from 4-5 minutes to 15-30 minutes.
4. Taken aggressive action against diaper rash by approving additional spending on creams and balms.
5. Made diplomatic trips to 14 states and met with high-ranking officials on said trips to discuss official matters such as how much hair I have, how much weight I have gained, how cute I am, and how happy my mommy and daddy must be.
6. Changed my Mommy and Daddy's bed time and wake up time. Daddy now gets up an hour earlier, and mommy gets up an hour later. They both wake up several times between bedtime and wake up time, said wakings are at my discretion and Mommy and Daddy are informed of them on a "need-to-know" basis.
7. Increased the amount of laundry washed by at least threefold.
8. Drastically decreased the amount of laundry that actually gets folded and put away.
9. Appointed many key advisors, markedly Wally, Pedro, Richard, Chuck, Mr. Moose, Mr. Monkey, the Giraffes, Jorge, and Bea.
10. Introduced new forms of communication to the household including screaming, crying, squawking, cooing, flailing, head-butting, and making various items wet and/or dirty.
I'm looking forward to the rest of my term governing this household!

Fun with Grandma Kathy

I had a great deal of fun with Grandma Kathy in Colorado--that's right, not Kansas this time. We shared some laughs, and precious moments worthy of small, hand-painted, porcelain sculpturehood.
