Beautiful Bethy

Mommy and Daddy say I'm pretty.

They dress me up in pretty dresses to accentuate my features.

Sometimes, I wish they'd put some pants on me for Heaven's sake!

My Daddy

This is my Daddy.

He gives me baths.

He plays games with me, makes me laugh, and sings to me.

I take him hiking.

We take naps.

Just today he ran in a half marathon. Here he is getting a massage afterward. I helped him get ready. I take him jogging in my stroller whenever I get a chance.

This is what I did while he ran.

Grandpa Joe

Da da-da dum dum dum dum. Dum dum dum-dum dum duh-dum da-dum. Bah bah bah bah bum bum bum. Ba-badda ba-dum dum ba-dah ba dum!

That's the University of Notre Dame Fight song, because Mommy, Daddy and I went to Indiana because Mommy had a conference at Notre Dame. The fight song is pretty manageable for a baby to learn. I've almost got it down.

I addition to seeing the beauty of the South Bend-Mishawaka area, I FINALLY got to meet my Granpa Joe! He liked me immediately, and I've gotta say I liked him, too. I also got to see my Aunties Jen and Liz again, and my Grandma Bobbie, too.

In case any of you are keeping track, I have now been to Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, Kansas, and Missouri. In case any of you are in the neigborhood, I'll be in Colorado next week. Right now I've been to 13 states in my 12 week life. Colorado will make 14 in 13 weeks. Can I get all of them in my first year?

Mommy, Daddy, and I went to a town named after me and did a race named after me. Mommy and I walked 2.6 miles with my stroller, and Daddy ran 3.1 miles on his own. It was rainy, and a little hilly, but we all had fun!

friends...

This is Wally. He's a green monster. There are four of him that rotate around and play music for me.

I love Wally. All four of him.

I could gaze at him all day.

If only I could wind him up again.

This is one of my bunny slippers. There's another one that looks just like it.

Pretty cute, huh?

This is my monkey. My Auntie Liz entrusted him to me. We like to snuggle from time to time.

Now, this one was interesting. This friend had a breeze that came out of her mouth like I do. I know that's something special.

She's with her daddy, and I'm with mine, but she (Shelby) doesn't look as much like her daddy as I look like mine.

I don't know what exactly she is, my blog friend Evie would call Shelby "Kitty", but I heard mention of the terms "puppy" and "doggy". I'll have to look into this one. All I know is I like 'em, whatever they are.

My lovely locks...

As you know, I was born with a lot of hair.

This fact presents me with a predicament that few babies my age experience: how to style one's hair.

This first one is a bit of a comb-over.

We like to call this second one "The Owl".

This one, I don't know, seems to be a bit of a homage to Ice Man from Top Gun. Not the way to go.

This style is best described with an onomatopoetic term: "Booo-whoop".

This style is, shall we say, poofy. I think it was taken post bath.

Clearly, I haven't figure this hair thing out yet. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
